Peruzzi style Italian 800 silver sodalite Pin / Pendant
Following the tradition of the Peruzzi and Coppini workshops this combination Italian silver and sodalite pin / pendant is crafted in a Renaissance Revival style and signed by a different maker whose signature is not clear enough to read. I find the color of the stone very attractive with its small spots of black here and there and the dark natural fissures that reveal themselves only upon close inspection with a loupe. Double-function jewelry like this are such a treat since they lend themselves to all kinds of occasions and different outfits...
PS: The chain shown in the photos is a prop and not part of your purchase - Thank you!
Size / Weight: 1 1/2" long (without the bail) by 1 1/4" wide; with the bail it will add a 1 3/4" drop to your chain; 12.8 grams
Hallmarks / Date: "800" as well as maker's mark as shown; 1930s-40s
