Mexico City repousse silver and turquoise "peyote flower" Bracelet
An iconic Mexico City design from the Deco years, the "peyote flowers" is rendered here in fleshy repoussage that is further enhance with oxidation and the warm patina of time. Graduated in size the floral links are adorned with vibrantly colored turquoise cabochons and connected with "hidden" pin hinges which allow the bracelet to effortlessly conform to the wrist's moves. A motif that was also used by Matilde Poulat, it is here executed with attention to detail and finishing and even though, admittedly, wrought in silver of a lighter gauge than Matl's examples, it has good weight and exhibits dramatic sculpturality and crispness. A veritable treat for the lover of 1930s Mexico City jewelry...

Hallmarks / Date: "SILVER" and "MADE IN MEXICO"; 1930s
Condition: excellent vintage with very good repoussage, gorgeous stones and warm patina; no damage and no repairs noted but there is a small opening in the back of one link (you can see it in the photo showing the bracelet's back side) that was a result of the crafting process; it does not affect the piece's integrity nor does it impact its presentation
