Mexican Deco silver and turquoise "caviar" Bracelet
An early Mexican Deco sterling silver and turquoise bracelet, I will suggest that it was made in Mexico City in the 1920s - early 1930s. Very much in the style popularized by and closely associated with Fred Davis, it was crafted in the "caviar" style only here the repousse semi-spheres are open on the back (another indication of the bracelet's early date), a little flatter and all of them topped by a bezel-set little turquoise cab. The stones cover a wide range of hues, from soft green to turquoise blue, some of them showing interesting black veining. Very easy to wear yet quite attractive and nicely made...
Size / Weight: 7 1/4" long (wearable; end-to-end 7 5/8") by 13/16" wide; 25.7 grams
Hallmarks / Date: "STERLING MEXICO"; 1920s-30s
Condition: very good vintage with beautiful patina that makes the color of the stones pop, very easy to wear, with nice presence and no damage or unsightly repairs; please note that one of the stones is a replacement and made of blue glass, not turquoise (you can see it more clearly in the last photo showing the hallmark); I opted not to have it replaced again with a real stone because I find it is part of the bracelet's life story and since it is not really offensive to the eye, I let it be yet priced the piece accordingly
