Los Ballesteros Mexican silver citrine floral Pendant Necklace
Combining layering, hand-chased details, a crown setting and a huge faceted gemstone that registers as a citrine on my gem-tester, this fantastic vintage Los Ballesteros pendant is true wearable art. I want to think of the flower as a black-eyed Susan on a bright summer morning, turning to the sun to soak in as much light and warmth as possible. The color of the gem is that of well-aged whiskey and the chain that completes the necklace thick, perfectly woven and substanstial…
Size / Weight: pendant is 2 3/4” in diameter (without the bail); with the bail combination it adds a 3 3/8” drop to the chain; chain is 24 1/2” long and 3/16” in diameter; 75.5 grams (for the set)
Hallmarks / Date: pendant fully signed with taller’s logo as shown as well as “STERLING 925” and “HECHO EN MEXICO”; chain seems to be marked on the hook of the clasp but mark is not readable (I believe MEXICO); tested and guaranteed to be solid silver of sterling quality; pre-1948 for the pendant and I would suggest the same for the chain
Condition: excellent vintage, big, bold and beautiful, with a fantastic gemstone that captures the light and sparkles, with a substantial chain, great patina and no damage or repairs noted
