Los Ballesteros Mexican silver and agate dimpled dot Bracelet
I love the Los Ballesteros family of massive, “dimpled dot” hinged bracelets and I am constantly on the look out for great examples. Wrought in sterling silver and adorned with a big, bezel-set agate cabochon that celebrates all hues of green, this beauty is a variation of the version with amethyst that is also available on my site. The difference in the bracelet at hand is that the “butterfly” motif that showcases the stone has additional “dots” in it that take up some of what would have been open space. Oval in shape, with beautiful patina and a scrumptious agate, a bracelet that will never go unnoticed and generate endless compliments…
Size / Weight: 7 1/2” inner circumference (clasped); width between 1 7/8” and 1 1/8”; 108.7 grams
Hallmarks / Date: fully signed with the workshop’s mark as shown as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO”, “STERLING 925” and Eagle 42 assay mark; 1950s-60s
Condition: excellent vintage with a beautiful, big stone, great patina (you can always polish to a higher sheen, if you wish), substantial and visually impressive, with no damage and no repairs noted
