Los Ballesteros Mexican silver agate "dimpled dot" Bracelet

$215.00

Classic Los Ballesteros Mexican silver and mottled agate bracelet, this is an iteration of the popular "dimpled dot" design thanks to the oval links separating the bezel-set stones. One of the oldest Mexican workshops, the Los Ballesteros taller was first founded in Iguala in 1937 yet by 1941 it was moved to Taxco. The re-location seems to have brought about a change in the character of their work as well, marking the complete abandonment of traditional filigree designs that characterized their first years for creations more in the spirit that Taxco had begun to be known for. Would it, however, be too much if I suggested that in the bracelet at hand we can still see some vestiges of that old Spanish Colonial design vernacular?

Size / Weight: 7" long (wearable) by 7/8" wide; 45.6 grams

Hallmarks / Date: fully hallmarked with the workshop's logo as shown as well as "HECHO EN MEXICO", "STERLING 925" and Eagle 47 assay mark; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful stones, nice patina and no damage or repairs noted
