Italian Etruscan Revival silver and coral "trunk" Charm / Pendant
A fabulous Italian Deco (if not a little earlier even!) silver charm / pendant in the Peruzzi style, this piece is big and opens up to reveal a hidden compartment. Usually referred to as "trunk" charms, similar “baubles” in the Etruscan style can be seen hanging off bracelets or worn with vintage chains as necklaces. I love the detail and profuse ornamentation of the "sphere" at hand with its row of red coral cabs adding a splash of color to the beautifully aged silver-work...
PS: In the last photo showing my Etruscan jewelry, you can see the charm as a necklace
Size / Weight: 1 1/8" drop (including the bail); 7/8" diameter; 12.4 grams
Hallmarks / Date: not signed for maker nor hallmarked for metal content yet tested and guaranteed to be silver of at least .800 purity; 1920s-40s
Condition: excellent vintage with impressive presence, gorgeous patina that has darkened the silver and makes the coral pop, with no damage and no repairs noted
